I Castelli Animati, International Festival of Animated Film, organized by Associazione Città dell’Animazione arrives at Romics, from 3 to 5 October 2019.
I Castelli Animati was born in 1996 in Genzano di Roma, in the heart of Castelli Romani, and soon became an essential point of reference in the sector. The European Union, in 2000 designated I Castelli Animati to represent Italy in the exclusive circuit of the eight most relevant european festivals taken in consideration by the UE to define the list of films nominated to the Cartoon d’Or, the european Oscar of animation. Among the great guests of the Festival we can mention: Peter Lord, Nick Park, Isao Takahata, Bruno Bozzetto, Michel Ocelot, David Silverman, Nelson Shin, Jan Pinkava, Borge Ring, Wendy Tilby, Giulio Gianini and Emanuele Luzzati, Manfredo Manfredi, Gianluigi Toccafondo, John Canemaker, Paul McCartney, Mario Monicelli, Furio Scarpelli and Valerio Mastandrea.
Romics and I Castelli Animati, in an extraordinary marriage, decided to offer the passionate public of Romics, the great art of the animated film in its different shades. The animation has increasingly become a mass media of reference: short and feature films, special effects, Apps and complex videogames. The animation is firmly part of our media routine. The power of the language of animated cinema is more and more present in the short films by allowing us to be closely involved in stories, contents and reflections on our contemporaneity; works created with several tecniques and experimentations that we will discover in the two International Contests.
During the XXVI edition of Romics I Castelli Animati will propose a focusing on the extraordinary production of animated films around the world with two contests: International Short Film Competition and International Graduation Film Competition.
The films on competition will be screened on 3 and 4 October; the final award ceremony will be held on Saturday 5 October at the Pala Romics – Sala Grandi Eventi e Proiezioni.
