Long Live Batman!

Romics opens the worldwide celebration of Batman's 80th anniversary for Italy

Italy’s participation in the worldwide celebration of Batman's 80th Anniversary will officially start at Romics. The Festival of Comics, Cinema, Animation, and Games will take place the 4th to the 7th of this coming April, with an exhibition of original drawings, artist tributes, statues, and transmedia dedications to Batman, who first appeared in Detective Comics issue # 27 on 30 March 1939.

Warner Bros. Entertainment Italia, DC Comics, RW Lion, and Romics will host events in the Movie Village: comic boards created by both international and Italian artists (in collaboration with C'art Gallery), official statues, artistic tributes, and other installations create a journey through history that was started in 2017 with the Tiferno Comics exhibition curated by Riccardo Corbò and Vincenzo Mollica. It has now been updated by Corbò himself and enriched with transmedia contributions by Max Giovagnoli for Batman’s extensive Italian audience.

The event is included in the DC Comics list of official celebrations dedicated to one of the most powerful creative icons in comic book history, which officially kicks off in Austin on March 15 with the cry "Long Live Batman!", and this year the official campaign has become a highlight on the Romics bill.
