Romics Comic Books Contest 2019


 

Romics Comic Books Contest 2019 is about to begin; the contest which honors the most interesting contemporary comic book artists; among the novelties  we can mention the awards for the best children’s book and best digital comics.

 

Romics makes its return from 4 to 7 April 2019 with a new edition of Romics Comic Books Contest, the prestigious event which pays tribute to the most eminent artists of the ninth art. Among the prizewinners of the past years: Gipi, Igort, Shaun Tan, but even debut artists such as Gaia Cardinali, Alice Socal and Vinci Cardona. With an audience of over 200.000 visitors, Romics conferms itself a festival not to be missed for enthusiasts and operators of the comics sector.

 

On the occasion of the 2019 edition the contest is further enriched by two completely new sections: Best Book for Children and Young People, dedicated to comic books suitable for youths and Best Digital Book, dedicated to the best web productions. 

 

The other sections of the contest are confirmed: Best Book of South American School, Best Book of Anglo-American School, Best Book of European School, Best Book of Italian School, Best Book of Japanese School, Best Reissue, New Talents Award, Special Jury Prize and Gran Premio Romics.

 

Romics also arranges an exhibition reserved to the books of the contest where all works will be available to public, a live performance dedicated to comics and a focus inside the official catalogue of the event, in such a way as to offer a greater visibility to italian and international pencillers who take part in the contest.

 

The collaboration established between Romics and Cepell, the last year has led to the institution of the New Talents Award. The relationship is being renewed this year as well and confirms the committment of Romics and the Ministry to support the youngest authors at the beginning of their career.

 

The Jury will be composed by personalities from the comics sector and the world of art.

 

The award ceremony will be held on Sunday 7 April 2019  at the Pala Romics, Sala Grandi Eventi e Proiezioni, pav.8.
