Brazilian, he started working in his country in the field of advertising, before his portfolio was noticed. His first stories for the US market came in 2006, when Albuquerque illustrated some stories written by Keith Giffen and Alan Grant for Boom! Studios. In 2007 he was hired by DC Comics, for which he illustrated a long series of BLUE BEETLE and several covers. In the same period, he got around to working even with Marvel Comics and Dark Horse. In 2010 was published the graphic novel Mondo Urbano ( Urban World). In the same year he co-created together with Scott Snyder and illustrated on script by his majesty Stephen King the Vertigo series AMERICAN VAMPIRE, that would have also won the prestigious Eisner and Harvey Awards as best new collection. He collaborated with Jeff Lemire to the final series of new Animal Man and illustrated for the series BATMAN a cycle of stories on Bruce Wayne’s youth where together with Scott Snyder he has revealed some secrets from past life of Dark Knight never seen before.
